One recent arrest of a 22-year-old man in Utah shows just how blurry the lines between right and wrong can be in some instances. The man was working as an Internet installer when he met a juvenile at one of the homes where he was working. While he was at the home, he is accused of participating in activities of a sexual nature that were inappropriate.
The man, who has been installing Internet services for the company for a year, was arrested and charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is a second-degree felony. His bail was set at $80,000. He was booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility.
Knowing a person’s age and making sure they are legally able to make decisions about sexual conduct is one way that a person might be able to avoid having to face sexual charges like this man. Making sure you have proper consent can help you avoid serious charges, such as rape charges. Additionally, in a case like this man’s, sticking strictly to work duties and making sure there is an adult present while you work may also help to avoid charges.
This man now has to deal with a damaged reputation, as well as possible criminal consequences stemming from the allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct. Presenting a strong defense may be one way the man can have a positive outcome in his case.
