Utah Code §76-5-402.1 states a person commits rape of a child when he or she has sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14.
Penalties of Rape of Child Conviction
Rape of a child is a first-degree felony punishable by a minimum of 30 years in prison. This penalty is lifted to life without parole if the trier of fact finds that the defendant committed serious bodily injury to another during the act.
